Hello everyone! Welcome to the Adventures of Black Geek Mom! Sounds cool huh?! Well it is and you are for coming to my blog and checking it out. In this blog I write about things in my life that I want to share. I'm a stay-at-home mom to two wonderful girls and have an amazing wife that is also my BFF. In my "spare time" I like to run. Yes you read that correctly, run. I've only been running consistently for about a year but within that time I got bit by the bug and now I can't stop. I've been in two races thus far and look to continue racing around my state of Florida as well as other states (maybe even countries).
I'm also a big nerd and have learned to embrace that part of me. You would think that after having two kids that the nerd side would diminish but not in my case. I've forced my family to watch Doctor Who and now they are hooked. I've gotten my oldest daughter to read comic books and graphic novels. I hope that I can get my youngest daughter into LARPing but I don't think my wife will let me. I love to crochet and pretty much do any type of arts and crafts project.
When I started this blog I wanted to write about geek culture and the things that I like/dislike about it, but I see that isn't for me. The one thing that I've learned about reading other people's blogs is that you should write about what you love. Well... I love my family and I love running, so that's what this blog is about.
